There have been a couple of blogs and forums about Google AdSense tips lately, I decided it would be helpful to consolidate the best of them in one place without the comments. I’ve also included some suggestions of my own. Controlling URL’s and channels

AdSense channels are one area where it’s really easy to be overly concerned with statistics. You can set up URL channels to see how one website is doing to the other. You can also set up subchannels with each URL. If you would like to make channels similar to this:

While this is ideal for testing and knowing which people click where and when, it makes your reporting little shaky. The total is always correct, however when you view your reports with an individual channel breakdown, things can be displayed multiple times, and they will not make up the correct total. This can be quite confusing, so you must decide if you want that level of reporting specificity? TIP: At minimum, you should understand which URL is responsible for the revenue so make certain to input separate URL channels.
